Intorducing Axiom Percussion

Axiom Percussion is an small guild of drum geeks, percussion junkies and master craftsmen who set out over a decade ago on a quest for the "holy grail" of drum instrumentology. In the history of our association, we've just about covered every conceivable custom configuration imaginable in the custom drum building world and have reached a single unified conclusion, an axiom if you will: Nothing sounds quit as good as an solid wood snare drum!

We are drummers building drums, for drummers. We manifest our combined knowledge of drums, drumming and drum making in our product by never straying from our original directive; to build the best sounding snare drums in the world.

We make our own shells from hand selected, choice hardwoods. We make one drum at a time, the old-world artisan way. We invite you to listen to the difference you will make with an Axiom Percussion solid wood snare drum.

New VGO stave shells coming soon

Ten new stave sets about to be finish cut and glued up. From right to left: Yellow Heart 6x13, Curly Fidel Back Maple 6x13, Padauk 6x13, Curly maple 6.5x14, another Maple 14" and another Yellow Heart 14" and on the router table to the left is a set of Big Leaf Quilt Maple blocks I've had roughed in for well over 5 years packed away in the overheads.

Getting Veneers Ready to Wrap New Snare Drums


We'll be doing a few more exotic veneer wraps soon. I have some really awesome pink Macassar Ebony in the press now and I will be pressing some Burl Eucalyptus and some Japanese Tamo Ash soon.

AXIOM Percussion Positve Youth Drummer Empowerment Award

AXIOM Percussion is proud to announce the first of many community events we will be hosting in 2010 focusing on youth drumming in our community. The AXIOM Percussion Positive Youth Drummers program will empower selected young people by supporting them with drums and gear in situations where they otherwise may not have had the opportunity. In many places music programs in public schools are failing or are completely nonexistent. Everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy music, not just listening to it but participating in it. Because AXIOM makes drums, our program will begin with drums and hopefully expand to include other ways of empowering positive young people.
